Hi, I’m Meredith …you can call me Mere

From downtown Chicago to the cornfields of IL, a lot has changed for me in my young adult years. I was a college aged city girl, dreaming of a big, corporate career in heart of Chicago when I found myself at a drive in movie theatre in what seemed to be the middle of nowhere, meeting a farm boy who had romantic interest in me. We eventually began dating & later married in a beautiful, brick church, where generations of family members before us had married as well. We bought the little white farmhouse on the generational family farm and the rest is history. Now I am a farmer’s wife, homesteader, and homemaker absolutely delighted by the beauty of simple living on the farm. I share my lifestyle, recipes, and life giving encouragement for your soul here on the blog, and on social media.

Where this all began

For years I have shared my heart on the cold, hard examining table of Facebook and Instagram. I truly just love connecting with people and have a passion for storytelling. Whether it is being told, being written, or still unfolding, I love a good story. Through many years of trial and error sharing my story in pieces on social media, I have grown to desire, and eventually create, a more professional platform to connect with others and serve up quality content.

My years of professional photography experience were a huge help; along with the robust gift of a homeschooled education from my parents (who are always willing to proof read anything I write). Slowly but surely, the dream I had to connect with others in a deeper way online became more of a vision. Eventually, all the details came together and now we’re both here…on the blog…reaping the benefits of the community built in my heart so many years ago.
