Essential Oils Changed My Life

I’ve been burned by MLM businesses and product brands that promised results more times than I’d like to admit. Can I be honest? I have even been burned by women “selling” Young Living oils and other various Young Living products. In these days with AI and social media side hustling, it’s hard to know what products are sincerely made well or if the person selling them just wants to make a quick dollar. Businesses can have hidden agendas. Things only become more complicated when shipping times, hidden fees, and the feeling of obligation to buy leave a bad taste in your mouth.

The reality for me begs a question; to throw the baby out with the bathwater or not? Truth is, I have tried almost every essential oil brand on the market and always come back to Young Living. The quality stands. The shipping is seamless. The longevity of the brand and variety in options are there. I can’t find anything better. I have invested my own hard earned dollars into Young Living products more than any other brand on the market because I truly do believe that.

Why I Love Essential Oils

In 2020, I became very sick with lots of autoimmune issues. My skin would almost always have a burning sensation while also flaking & peeling off daily. My skin was chronically damaged. I was desperate for something to change. One day on social media I saw a friend sharing about lavender and frankincense oils in her skincare routine. I decided to give it a try, and never looked back. My skin began to heal and actually have a glow to it. I did this and started taking beef liver around the same time. You can read more about that process here.

The chronic skin issues, coupled with the chaos of the 2020 pandemic, and the reality of trying to graduate college early left me reeling in stress and anxiety. I never came down from fight or flight (and still feel bad for everyone around me during that season!! haha). After using oils for a couple years, I invested in some of the oil starter kits in 2022. My favorite oil blend immediately became “stress away.” Best case scenario, I thought it could help reduce stress. Worst case scenario, it didn’t touch the stress but still smelled good and would scent my house instead of a toxic candle. What did I have to lose?

Long story short, I still use “stress away” every day & have seen significant reductions in stress, improved sleep, and as a result, improved health in my hormones and cycle.

What is Aromatherapy?

After years of using oils daily, I would share them with friends or make homemade blends. I never could really explain what aromatherapy was. Truth is, I never took the time to understand the “why” behind the oils. I just blindly embraced them. Regardless, I was seeing results and eventually came to learn the reason behind why so many are embracing the opportunity to use oils.

Put simply, Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils for therapeutic benefit. The benefits come via consumption of aromas/exposure to them. The big word “aromatherapy” makes people uncomfortable and skeptical. However, we all have experienced it in some capacity. Smells or scents attached to memories, both good and bad, have the power to take you back in time; to mold you and shape you. Aromatherapy does exactly that, and more because oils have frequencies, just like humans.

Oils are used based off of their scents, and more strategically, used based on their frequencies. They can be used for emotional regulation, immunity boosts, grief processing, digestion support, mood & sleep support, cleaning purposes, and pain relief etc.

To this day I am still using oils. The benefits I have received are more than I can write in this blog post alone. My top three are the benefits of emotional regulation, stress/pain relief, and skin healing. If you’d like to try oils or have questions, shoot me a message so I can share more. You can also explore what is available, including starter kits on the site here.

Wishing you lots of peace & oils to support you in all the ways you need!

xoxo,

Meredith
